A fun-filled week packed with face painting, a visit from the Scarlets rugby team, food demonstrations and lots of yummy potato samples, it can only be the Pembrokeshire County Show 2016!
With the sun shining down on us on Tuesday 16th August 2016, we knew we had a busy week ahead at the Pembrokeshire County Show, and were waiting and raring to go.
Painting the Faces of Pembrokeshire!
Tuesday morning saws the arrival of the face painters to the Blas y Tir stand, causing a stir among the children passing by, with the promise of free face painting to raise money for children’s charity Ty Hafan.
We encouraged children to be something they had seen at the show, or something agricultural, we had lots of butterflies and horses!
We also couldn’t resist having a go ourselves, with Megan from Blas y Tir having the ‘Puffin Produce’ logo painted on her arm (for a donation obviously!)
Supporting the Scarlets!
We had an even bigger surprise for visitors popping by the Blas y Tir stand on Wednesday 17th August, being joined by 4 senior members from the Scarlets Rugby Team! Samson Lee, Rhys Fawcett, Rob Evans and Josh Macleod made the journey to come and meet their local supporters!
Here at Blas y Tir we are really proud to be supporting a local rugby team, encouraging healthy eating and healthy lifestyles in our younger generations, and really glad the boys could come and meet their fans! You can find out more about the Scarlets by visiting their website here!
Food Glorious Food!
We were also pleased to cook on the Pembrokeshire County Council Demonstration Kitchen each day, showing how to make our delicious Tatws Tatin and Bombay Potatoes! You can find those recipes and more by going to our recipes page! On Tuesday and Thursday Caroline and Megan from Blas y Tir took the stand…
We had guest chef Deri Reed, the Ethical Chef take the stand on Wednesday 17th, creating delicious Cauliflower steaks. You can visit his website and find out more about how to make his delicious food by clicking here!
Promoting Welsh at the Pembrokeshire County Show
As always, the Blas y Tir stand was full of activities with lots of things to entertain as well as promote our delicious Welsh produce, we are after all proud to be Welsh!
A brilliant Pembrokeshire County Show once again, we’d best start planning for next year..!
