With the festive season in full swing and Christmas just round the corner we’ve compiled the ultimate Welsh Christmas, a celebration of Welsh goodies to give you the best Welsh Christmas ever!

If you’re looking for a twist on the traditional sage and onion stuffing, why not give these Sage, Leek and Onion Stuffing Balls a go. Blas y Tir leeks add a sweetness to the mix, which is simple and quick to create, brilliant! You can find the recipe on the BBC Good Food website.



Easy Turkey Gravy

Instant gravy granules will always be a good quick fix, but if you really want to go all out this Christmas, why not try making your own gravy from your meat juices? BBC Good Food have created the easiest Turkey gravy recipe, a fool-proof Christmas gravy that will impress all your family and friends.

If you want to add a twist, why not try adding a small amount of Welsh Cider to the gravy, a glug of Gwynt y Ddraig cider will add a sweetness to the gravy, plus you can finish off these rest of the bottle whilst cooking… like you needed any excuse!



It may seem a strange one to those traditionalists out there, but Yorkshire puddings can be the highlight of many Christmas dinners, and if you’re looking for inspiration check out Jamie Oliver’s top tips and tricks to creating the perfect homemade Yorkshire puddings. You can, of course, still buy the frozen versions, but these are always going to taste better.

There’s a whole host of independent sauce and condiment companies in Wales, bringing brilliant flavours like the traditional cranberry sauce. Check out this version from Celteg, which you can pick up in deli’s throughout Wales.



Of course, the traditional Christmas pudding will always be a main feature at the Christmas dinner table, but more and more we are trying alternative puddings for our Christmas dessert. From the seasonal favourite the Chocolate yule log to a Boozy Brownie Trifle, there’s a whole host of recipes out there to give you inspiration. We especially like this easy Salted Chocolate Tart from Nigella Lawson, Halen Mon Smoked over Oak Sea Salt would be delicious in this. Serve with a big dollop of Totally Welsh Double Cream, yum!

A Christmas dinner wouldn’t be complete without some quality cheeses in a delicious Welsh cheeseboard to round off the main event. Wales is fast becoming the home of cheeses, with companies such as Snowdonia Cheese, Caws Cenarth and the Carmarthenshire Cheese Company to name just a few. Take a look in the deli department of your local supermarket, or delicatessens to discover delicious cheeses made in Wales.

Dig into something sweet from Wales this Christmas, with handmade chocolates from Sarah Bunton and the Wickedly Welsh Company, gooey caramel waffles from Tregoes Waffles and delicious welsh cakes from Tan y Castell and Braces, just perfect with a cup of tea or liquor coffee!

Or why not tuck into a delicious handcrafted cake from BBC Apprentice winner Alana Spencer and Narna’s Cakes!
